Our brains are wired so that we are social beings, and now there is proof that social media like Facebook actually reduce our capacity to function well in some ways. We need social interaction, but like food we eat, our social selves need more than “junk food.” Could churches be a place where nutritious social life leads to a healthier mind, body and spirit? Of course! That’s why some of us still show up on Sunday mornings (and to choir practice, study groups, drumming circles, etc etc)
